Being photographed isn’t just about how you look.
It’s about how you’re received.
I approach this work with deep care, shaped by lived experience — growing up in environments where fitting in often felt safer than being fully known.
I’ve seen how fear, expectation, and performance can quietly teach us to edit ourselves.
I’ve also seen what becomes possible when someone is met with steadiness instead of judgment - when there’s room to relax and simply be.
If you carry old stories about not being enough, feeling misunderstood, or trying to meet expectations that never quite fit, you’re not alone.
You don’t have to prove anything here.
It would be an honor to photograph you with care and create images that reflect you as you are — layered, human, and real.
Images that mark being seen, without asking you to perform.
I’ve been photographing people for over two decades and am privileged to have earned three degrees in photography including a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from Art Center College of Design.
I was mentored by renowned photographers including Mary Ellen Mark in New York City, and have extensive training in both technical skill and visual storytelling.
But just as important as my formal training is what life has taught me: empathy, patience, and how to hold space during vulnerable moments.
"Brody takes a thoughtful and creative approach to the session."
They really get to know you beforehand through questions and conversations to find out what you are ultimately looking to get out of your time together. This provides a great outcome with a bevy of images to choose from. Easily five stars.

You’re welcome to begin wherever you are.
Tell me what you’re hoping for or what feels uncertain. You don’t need to have it all figured out — this is just a chance to connect and see if we’re a good fit.
We’ll walk through the session details together so everything feels clear and easy.
That might mean choosing a location together or meeting at a set spot, and sharing anything you’d like me to be mindful of — so you can arrive feeling prepared and supported.
You’ll be guided gently, with plenty of room to simply be yourself.
There’s no pressure to perform or pose. Even in shorter sessions, the focus stays on ease, respect, and capturing you in a way that feels natural and true.
Within 3 weeks, you’ll receive your custom online film photo gallery.
Every image is included, thoughtfully edited, and fully yours — ready to keep, download, and share however you'd like.
Queer, non-binary parent with lived experience navigating visibility and Being seen.
Calm, intuitive, and deeply curious
Documentary-trained photographer drawn to what’s real, not staged
Believes joy and safety are foundational, not optional
Drawn to quiet moments, natural light, and honest connection
love to hike, meditate, and feel gratitude
This work is rooted in dignity, presence, and real connection.
Sessions move gently - never forcefully.
Consent, pacing, and intuition guide the experience.
There’s space to soften.
To breathe.
To arrive without performing.
The photos matter.
But they’re really a record of something deeper:
a moment of being witnessed with care.
I photograph family and newborn sessions in the Denver area using real 35mm film. My approach is documentary-driven, focused on capturing your life as it genuinely unfolds rather than staging artificial poses.
Because sessions are photographed on film, galleries are delivered within 3 weeks.
You’ll receive an online gallery with your finished high-resolution images, ready to download and share. If you would like to purchase prints in the gallery, you can do so. I also recommend mixtiles because of how how easy and fresh they look.
Most sessions take place in your home or a meaningful location in the Denver area.
Familiar spaces create a more natural rhythm. Your home isn’t a backdrop — it’s part of the memory.
Simple, comfortable clothing photographs beautifully on film.
Soft neutrals, textured fabrics, and layers tend to work well. Avoid large logos, bright neon colors, or heavy patterns that distract from connection. Most importantly, choose clothing that feels like you.
If you’d like guidance, I’m happy to help you decide.
That’s totally normal.
Sessions aren’t about perfect behavior. Kids can move, take breaks, or need a reset. I’ll guide when it’s helpful and step back when it’s not. The goal isn’t control — it’s presence.
Sessions are one hour.
That’s enough time to settle in, move naturally, and create meaningful work on film without rushing the experience. Because each frame is photographed intentionally, the focus is on depth rather than volume.
Head to the Contact page and fill out the inquiry form. I’ll respond within 24 hours with availability and next steps.
Once your session is confirmed, I’ll guide you through everything you need to feel prepared.
Only with your clear consent.
Your photographs belong to you. I never share images without permission. After you’ve received your gallery, I may ask if you’re comfortable with a few being shared — often to help others see what working together feels like.
There is never pressure.
