I'm Brody
Photography has been the instrument I've practiced for most of my life.
As a quiet kid, I always felt most at home observing. Long before I understood who I was becoming, photography gave me a way to participate in the world. It taught me to slow down, to notice, and to trust what I was seeing.
I've learned that I experience the world a little differently. My intuition often arrives before my mind has words for what it's noticing. Sometimes it feels like I can listen through my eyes, sensing emotions, relationships, and quiet moments before they're ever spoken aloud.
Over the years, I've become convinced that the most meaningful photographs don't come from perfect poses. They come from trust, connection, and feeling free to be yourself.
I believe every person has a way of moving through the world that's uniquely their own. My job isn't to change that. It's to notice it, create space for it, and celebrate it.
During your session, I'll gently guide you whenever you need it, and I'm always happy to show you the back of my camera along the way. I see photography as something we create together, not something I simply do to you.
More than anything, I hope you leave feeling seen. If these photographs help you recognize the beauty that already exists in your life, then I've done my job.
It would be an honor to tell your story.
My background
I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where I learned to see photography as both an art form and a way of understanding people.
During that time, I had the privilege of learning from documentary photographer Mary Ellen Mark, whose compassion, curiosity, and deep respect for the people she photographed left a lasting impression on me. She reminded me that the most meaningful photographs begin with trust.
After graduation, I worked on documentary film productions, where I watched remarkable directors create environments where people felt safe enough to be themselves. Those experiences continue to shape every session I photograph today.
One day, I hope to direct an independent documentary film. Until then, I'm incredibly grateful that photography allows me to tell meaningful stories every day.
when I'm not photographing I enjoy
snow hiking
Bike-riding adventures
time with friends
listening to podcasts on hikes
what it's like working together
I know having your photograph taken can feel vulnerable.
You don't need to know how to pose, worry about saying the right thing, or wonder whether you're doing it "correctly." There's no performance to live up to here.
We'll laugh. We'll pause when we need to. We'll look at the back of the camera together. If something doesn't feel like you, we'll change it. If something feels wonderful, we'll follow it.
I want you to leave feeling like you had a genuinely good experience, regardless of how you usually feel about being photographed.
Everyone is welcome here.
No matter your gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, body type, age, or ability, you deserve to feel seen, respected, and celebrated. My hope is that every session feels like a place where you can arrive exactly as you are.
